Sanitary pruning
Once the harvest was over, we found some coffee trees with leafless branches and very little growth for the next harvest. Seeing this situation and especially the lack of leaves, we decided to carry out a sanitary pruning.
This type of pruning consists of cutting the branch approximately fifteen centimeters from the trunk, in this way we manage to stimulate the coffee plant and cause it to branch out with two new branches! With this technique we achieve that where there was one branch, two are generated and consequently we achieve more productive tissue for the next harvests.
Where we have carried out sanitary pruning we will have to wait for a harvest without production, but the next one will be much better!!!!
