Barahona is a province of the Dominican Republic located in the southwest of the country. It is part of the province of Enriquillo. This area has very particular characteristics, influenced by its latitude (the same as Jamaica Blue Mountain variety) and its proximity to the sea.
This causes an insular climate, with moderately cold temperatures in winter, which extends the maturity of the fruit, thus achieving greater penetration of sugars in itself and a very particular taste.
These farms stand out for its low consumption of chemical fertilizers, which sacrifice the productivity to achieve higher quality.
